Anjangaon is based in the Amravati district of Maharashtra. It is a part of the twin cities Anjangaon and Surji divided by the river Shahanur. The city has been the site of the peace treaty between the Maratha Scindia chief and the British. It was also documented as one of the 46 mahals of Vidarbha in the Mughal Ain-i-Akbari, or the documentation of emperor Akbar’s empire.
