Anjar is a one of the earlist towns in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Its history stretches back over 1400 years to around 650 AD. It is located about 40km from Kandla port in the southern part of the district. Due to its proximity to the Desert of Kutch, the climate in Anjar is very dry.
