About Araria

Araria

Araria is a town and a municipality located at the northern part of Medhepura and Purnia in Bihar. It is the administrative headquarters of the Araria district. Araria shares its borders with Nepal on the northern side, Kishanganj on east and Supaul on the south-west. It is well connected to other places via bus, rail and air.

Supaul, a historical town and well known as a fishing town, is also renowned for its dam constructed on River Kosi. This area in Bihar lies close to the border of Nepal and Saharsa. The East-West Highway passes through this district. Nearby cities are Kothia, Bagahi, Birpur, Triveniganj, Nirmali, Kishanpur and Shyamnagar. It is 251 km from its capital city, Patna.
