Balkonda is a small village in the Nizamabad district of the newly-formed South Indian state – Telangana. The district headquarters, Nizamabad, is 48 km away from the village. Argul Rajaram is a famous personality from the village who championed for the causes of backward classes. The village is adjacent to the picturesque Sriramsagar Reservoir.

The village does not have any place which is worth visiting as far as tourist interests are concerned. Ali Sagar, at a distance of 53 km, is known for its forests, deer park boating and a place in the midst of the jungle.
