Mundkur

Mundkur is a traditional temple village in the Karkala taluka of Udupi district in Karnataka. The historical 1300 year old temple containing Goddess Durga Parameshwari who slayed Mundaka demon is the key source of pilgrimage in Mundkur. That is how the place was named as Mundakooru which later on came to be known as Mundkur. There are 3 villages in the Mundkur district. Temples are the main tourist attraction in Mundkur.
