Belukurichi is a small village in the Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. It is located at a distance of only 45 km from the major urban hub – Salem city. The settlement is just below the Kolli Hills. The name ‘Belukurichi’ is said to have been derived from the Tamil words, Velavan Kurunji, which means land and hills of the Hindu god, lord Murgan.

The main attractions of the city are its places of worship – Kottai Mariamman Temple, Sugavaneshwarar Temple, ISKON Temple, the Jama Masjid built by Tipu Sultan, Infant Jesus Church and others.
