Bhalki is a historically significant town in the Bidar district of Karnataka and is part of the Bhalki Taluka. The city nearest to Bhalki is Bidar (45 km), which is the district headquarters. Bhalki got its name from the Lord Shiva temple Bhalkeshwar situated inside town limits. Bhalki was first mentioned in the 12th century Sharana Vachanas as “Bhallunke”.
