A city in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh, Bhilai is located 25 kilometres west of the capital Raipur, on the main Howrah–Mumbai rail line. The city, which is situated in eastern central India, has the National Highway 6 passing through it. Famous for the Bhilai Steel Plant, the largest in the country, the city is the only manufacturer of rails in India. Bhilai Nagar is a planned township that has won the Prime Minister's Green Environment Trophy ten times.

Anugul, also called Angul, is a small city in the Sundargarh district of Odisha. It is sandwiched between the Kamakhya Forest Range and the Badamba Forest Range. The major city nearby is Cuttack at a distance of 113 km. The climatic conditions vary with seasons. Summers are usually very hot, winters are chilly and the monsoon brings about significant wind speeds along with drops in temperature.
