A panchayat town and taluka in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka,Bilagi (Bilgi) is an agricultural place. The townsfolk thrive on sugarcane cultivation. While the town is only about 19kms from Bagalkote , the district headquarters, the distance by road will be about 30kms. Bilagi is well-known in the region for the ‘Arettina Bavi’ (a Six-bullock well) that is located here. The well is believed to have been built in 1708 CE.
