The historically significant city of Bulandsahar is located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.Traditionally, the city was called Baran City and only recently has it taken on the name Bulandsahar. The city’s name alludes to its highlands, the Persian word for which became its name.

The 40 feet high statue of Lord Hanuman at a Rajghat temple, the famous pottery town of Khurja (around 17kms from Bulandshahr main city), Goddess Belon’s temple in Belon village and Anoopshahr which is an important pilgrimage centre are popular tourist destinations. The Lucknow State Museum is another good destination to take a look at historical objects such as inscriptions and old minted coins.

Delhi airport, at 75km, is the closest one to Bulandshahr.
Bulandshahr Station, about 2kms away from city centre, runs daily services to Delhi and thereby is connected to all major cities in the country.
