Bundi is a town in the Bundi district of Rajasthan. It is a part of the Kota division. Some attribute its name to the tribe Jhala-a regent of Jalim Singh. The ruins of the city cover a major area of the city. Several ancient and valuable coins have been found in the ruins, confirming the antiquity of the place.
