Chemperi is a town in the South Indian state of Kerala, 47 km outside Kannur city. It is often referred to as the ‘education city of Kannur’ with the establishment of the Vimal Jyothi Engineering College. Small hills, quiet streams along with rubber and spice exports have given the town a bit of fame in the region.

Some of the other places in Kannur which deserve special mention are St. Angelo’s Fort built by the Portuguese, the Thalassery Fort built by the British, the Ezhimala historical site established by the British, the Moppila Bay and others.
