Chikmagalur is a city in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It is a part of the Chikkamagaluru district, located in the foothills of the Mullayanagiri range. The state capital of Bangalore lies at a distance of 245 east of the city. The city and its surrounding areas are heavily forested and lush green due to heavy rainfall.
