Dharmashala, also known as Dharamsala is a perfect getaway for those seeking a way out of the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. The town has hosted a couple of IPL matches in the past, bringing it into national limelight. Besides, the exiled Tibetan government’s headquarters (in McLeodGanj, a suburb) is also based here, which has given the city an international fame. The district headquarters, Kangra, is located at a distance of 22 km. Dharamsala is known for its mountainous landscape and picturesque scenery. The city is a part of the Kangra district. The traditional momos, a local delicacy is a must-try.

The village located in the mountainous region is a great picnic spot. One can even plan a nice late afternoon picnic in the hills to catch the beautiful glimpse of the sunset. Some of the places which are worth visiting in the area are McLeodGanj (9km away) the rock temples of Masrur (15 km south of Kangra), Bhagsu Waterfalls (2 km from McLeodGanj), Bhagsunag Temple (2 km from McLeodGanj), Kangra Museum in Kangra, Jama Masjid Dharamshala and others. Trekkers will have a fabulous time in the area.

The nearest airport is the Kangra or Gaggal Airport at a distance of 14 km.
Kangra Railway Station in Kangra is the nearest major railway station at a distance of 24 km.
