About Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar was named after Mahatma Gandhi because the city was constructed on the principles of Gandhi. It is Gujarat, India and is the capital of the state. It was part of the Ahmedabad district until the late 1960s.This city is divided into 30 separate sectors and was formed by roads that were laid in a rectangular grid. Each sector has its own shopping, health and housing colonies. Each sector also has its own community centres.

Places of Interest
The Akshardham temple, the Adalaj Step-Wells, the Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park (000000which is the only dinosaur museum in the country) are the major tourist attractions in Gandhinagar.

Air:
The airport nearest to Gandhinagar is the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport which is located in Ahmedabad

Rail:
The Capital Railway Station was recently developed by the Capital project division and the Gandhinagar Road and Building Department. It is located in Sector 14 and many trains that connect the western zones pass through Gandhinagar.

Bus:
