Godhegaon is situated in the Ambegaon taluka in Ahmednagar district of Pune, Maharashtra. The village is at the foothill of the Sahyadri mountain range and is situated on the banks of the river Ghod from which the village derives its name, Godhegaon. It is located about 70 km from Pune, 120 km from Ahmednagar, and 250 km from state capital of Mumbai. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of Godhegaon.

The nearest airports are in Aurangabad (80 km) and Pune (130 km).
Sanvatsar Railway Station (7 km) and Kopargaon Railway Station (11 km) are close to Godhegaon. Pune railway station is about 60 km from Ghodhegaon.
Kopargaon is the nearest town to Godhegaon. Local bus services are available from here.
