Guntakal is located in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh. It is 50 km away from Bellary. The name Guntakal comes from the Kannada term ‘Guntakallu.’ ‘Kallu’ means stone in Kannada and Sivalinga in Sanskrit.
