A town in Alappuzha District, Kerala, Haripad is located between Alappuzha and Kollam on National Highway 47. Situated close to the Arabian Sea, the town connects Mavelikkara and Thrikkunnappuzha. There are more twenty Hindu temples in and around the surrounding regions.The first Sri Ramakrishna Ashram in the state was established at Pilapuzha in Haripad. The town is considered the land of the ‘Mayura Sandesa’ (land of snake boats) and music, dance and drama.
