Jalore is a small municipality in Rajasthan and serves as the administrative headquarters of the Jalore district. It was earlier known as Jabalipura-named after a saint Maharishi Jabali. It is famously known for the Jalore fort, which served as a safe keep for the treasures of its erstwhile rulers. It is also called the granite city of Rajasthan.
