A village in the district of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, Kadayam is located near the banks of the two tributaries of the Thamirabarani River, Jambunathi and Ramanathi. Legend says that the village got its name from the Kadagam (bracelet)that the presiding deity of the village, Goddess Kalyani Amman threw in her anger. Kadayam is well remembered for being the native place of Subramania Bharati's wife. Subramania Bharati had supposedly lived in this village for a considerable length of time.
