Kalpa is a small town in the Kinnaur district of the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated above the Sutlej river valley. It is famous for its apple orchards and it is a major cash crop for the people of this region. It is also known for its production of Pinus Gerardiana, which is locally known as ‘Chilgoza.’ It is known for its temples dedicated to the Hindu and Buddhist gods and goddesses.
