Karamchedu is a village located 8.5kms from the busy commercial town of Chirala in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. The village is known for its irrigated, fertile land as it is hugely benefitted from the century-old irrigation facilities built by the, British and during the post-Independence era. While the village was well-known for its prospering agriculture, the population has over the years diversified to other urban vocations. A third-level government unit, Karamchedu is a mandal that oversees the administration of several villages.

The temple festivals are the most popular in the village. The annual celebrations include the Karamchedu kollupulu, a village festival where people pray for rains and the annual Gangamma Temple festival, which is celebrated in April-May.

While Karamchedu has not many places of interst except for its temples, the neighbouring town Chirala (10kms) has a lot of tourist attractions.
