Karanja, commonly known as Karanja Lad, is a city based in the Washim District of Maharashtra, India. The town is said to have its name derived from Saint Karanja and is a holy destination for Muslims, Hindus and Jains. Karanja is also popular as the birth place of Sri Nrusimha Saraswati Swami Maharaj, who is known to be the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya.
