Kishanganj is a small town in the district of Kishanganj in Bihar. It is situated in the Purnea Division of Bihar. It was earlier called Krishna-Kunj. The Kishanganj district was a part of Nepal during the Mughal period. Some of the rivers that flow through this district include Mahananda, Mechi, Kankai, Ratua, and Ramzan Sudhani. Kishanganj is known to be the only tea producing district of Bihar. The district shares its border with Nepal and is close to Bangladesh border.
