Kudremukha is a hill station town in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. It is named after the mountain range that is located there called Kudremukh, which literally translate to ‘face of a horse’ in Kannada. It was primarily developed to run and grow the public sector iron ore mining company that the government had started, but which is now closed due to environmental reasons.

Kuduremukha National Park, Kuduremukha Peak, and Kalahatti Falls are all popular tourist spots where nature can be witnessed in its unabated glory. Kalasa, believed to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva, is located on the river Bhadra’s banks.

Mangalore Railway Station, located 102 km away, is the nearest major station connecting Kuduremukha to major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.
