A small town in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Mahal is located near the Kalikiri Mandal. Irregular monsoon over the past few decades has left Mahal vulnerable. Once primarily dependent on agriculture as its major source of income, it’s become a migratory town. The development in this town has also stagnated over the past few years. The main part of the town has a large number of Telugu-speaking Afghan decedents.
