Mainpuri is a district under the Agra division in Uttar Pradesh. Situated to the north-east of Agra, the city is 270 km from New Delhi. Mainpuri has a diverse and a religiously rich tradition with followers of many religions as Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jainism and Buddhism living in harmony. It is also known as ‘Sankasya‘in Ramayana. It is also the commercial centre for agricultural products from the nearby villages.

A rare idol with 18 arms of Goddess Durga is present in Bhimsen Mandir situated on Jyoti-Devi road here. Foolbagh is situated at Jail Chauraha while the Lohia Park is situated at District Collectrate. These places are main attractions for their beautiful lush green lawns.
