Makrana is a town located in the state of Rajasthan and falls under the Nagaur district. Makrana has more than 136 villages under its jurisdiction which makes it the biggest ‘tehsil’ in the district. This place is renowned for its marble. It is believed that the Taj Mahal, Buckingham Palace, White House, Sydney Opera House and Westminster Abbey were all built with at least some marble from Makrana.
