A town in the Junagadh district of Gujarat, Manavadar was formerly a princely state in British India. After independence the state agreed to be part of Pakistan before a plebiscite decreed that Manavadar would remain part of India. The town used to have flourishing industries of cotton, groundnut and ghee but all have since shut down. Manavadar is most well known for Kuvar-pak, a sweet made from milk, ghee sugar and aloe vera during the winter season.
