Mapranam, a small town nestled in the Kerala district of Thrissur, had laid one of the first foundations of Christianity in India. It is located 20 km away from Thrissur railway station. The town houses the oldest church in the country built in 928 AD. It is also the only church in the country which has the relics of Jesus Christ. The town is also famous for its old toddy (a local drink) shop.
