About Morgaon


Morgaon is village in the Pune district of Maharashtra, and is situated 80 km away from Pune and 221 km away from Mumbai. This village used to be called Margin or Mayurgaon due to the number of peacocks that could once be seen here. ‘Mayur’ means peacock in Marathi. Shri Moreshwar temple is the main attraction here. This temple is where the Ashtavinayaka, that is pilgrimage of the eight Ganesha temples, begins and ends.
