About Mumbai

Mumbai

Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra and also the financial capital of India. It has many sobriquets like ‘The City of Dreams’ and ‘The city which never sleeps.’ The name ‘Mumbai’ is derived from Mumba or Maha-Amba, which is the name of the Goddess Mumbadevi and ‘Aai’ which in Marathi means Mother.
