Parassala is a small and yet busy town that is situated in southern Kerala. This picturesque town lies on the Tamil Nadu and is home to people of various communities. As it is situated on the border, the town provides means of employment to people from both Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The town of Parassala gained more popularity after the success of Prof. Parassala B. Ponnammal. She was the first female singer in the Navarathri Mandapam of Thiruvananthapuram.
