A small city situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh and belonging to the Hoshangabad district, Pipariya is the railhead for the military station. It is situated 72.3 km from Hoshangabad and 75 km from Itarsi. Residents call it ‘Pips’, and it is mainly popular among tourists due to its proximity to the picturesque hill station of Pachmarhi (52 km).

The official language of Pipariya is Hindi, with Urdu also being predominant in some areas. Apart from this, few local languages are also spoken by some residents.
Being situated in Madhya Pradesh, the town has a rich folk and tribal culture, and a large number of fairs and dance festivals are held throughout the year at nearby areas.
Places of Interest
The main tourist attraction is the town of Pachmarhi (52 km from Pipariya) as mentioned earlier. Some other places worth visiting include Satpura National Park and Tiger Reserve (36 km), the city of Sohagpur (18 km) and Dokrikheda dam (12 km).
How to Get There
Raja Bhoj Airport, a domestic airport situated in Bhopal, is the nearest airport (160 km).
A number of trains from Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Mumbai, Kolkata and Allahabad pass through the city.
MPTDC provides daily bus services to Pipariya from Bhopal and certain other nearby areas. Also, a number of buses ply daily to take tourists from Pipariya to Pachmarhi, which is roughly a 1-hour journey. Online bus booking is a rage with travelers these days because several travel websites provide cheap bus ticket booking facility to its customers.
