The largest city and only City Municipal Corporation in Haveri district of Karnataka, Ranebennuru is located on the National Highway NH4. The most important river in the state, the Tungabhadra, flows near the south of the city. Another river the Kumadvathi also enters the city before joining the Tungabhadra.
