Sira, previously known as Siriya, is a taluk of the Tumkur district in the state of Karnataka. It is situated the on National Highway NH-4 connecting Mumbai to Chennai. Sira, at one point came under the rule of the Kings of Bijapur. There are several historic and religious structures here that attract a number of tourists every year. It also has the famous Mallik Rehan ‘dergah’- a mausoleum built over the grave of Mallik Rehan, the erstwhile Governor of Sira.

Sira has plenty of tourist attractions but are located far away. Some of the places that can be reached by buses include Kasturi Rangappa Nayaka, Khan Bagh, Ibrahim Rauza, Jamia Masjid, Seebi, and Mallik Rehan dargah.

There is no railway station in Sira.
There is good connectivity between Sira and its neighbouring cities. There are many KSRTC Buses and private buses that ply to nearby towns and offer good experience to passengers. Booking a bus ticket in advance will save you a lot of hassle.
