Sri Ganganagar belongs to the state of Rajasthan, and serves as the administrative headquarters of the district of Sri Ganganagar. The city is known for being planned in an excellent manner, and gets its name from Shri Ganga Singh Bahadur, erstwhile ruler of Bikaner. It is at a strategic location due to its close proximity to the borders of three states including Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. It is also fondly called the fruit basket of Rajasthan.
