Uthangarai is a town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located quite close to the border with the neighboring state of Karnataka. The nearest major urban agglomeration is the city of Salem at a distance of 91 km south-west. The major urban hub of the region, Bangalore is not far either as it is located at a distance of 139 km to the west.
