A city in the north-east of Kerala, Wayanad has abundant greenery and rivers. It got its name from Vayal Nadu, meaning the “land of paddy fields. This city shares its borders with two states, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Established in November 1980, Wayanad is known for its pepper, coffee, tea and cardamom plantations.
