The city of Agra needs no introduction as the famous Taj Mahal is situated here. It is in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and on the banks of the Yamuna River. Taj Mahal
Taj mahal, built by Shah Jahan is considered as the New Seven Wonders of the World. This is the mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. This is a magnificent building built of white marble required nearly 22 years to complete.
Agra fort
Agra Fort was commissioned by the Akbar the great. Although it had been build earlier around 1000 years ago, it was renovated by Akbar. This magnificent fort houses the Pearl Mosque, the diwan-e- khas and Diwan-e-am, Jahangir’s Palace, Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal and the Musamman Burj.
Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri built by Akbar is about 35 kms from Agra. This place consists of a number of magnificent buildings dating to the times of Akbar the great. This place is also recognized as a world heritage site.
‘Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb
This tomb was built by Empress Nur Jahan for her father, the chief minister of the Emperor Jahangir.
Tomb of Akbar the Great
The tomb of akbar is situated only 13 kms from the Agra Fort on the Agra- Delhi Highway. This is the final resting place of Akbar.
