Uliyannur is a religious place in Aluva. It’s also rich in culture and tradition. Many epics say that Perunthachan dropped his ‘Uli’ (a sharp building apparatus) on his son’s neck which killed him. Perunthachan contributed his building skills to this place. The temple in this place is regarded very holy and sacred. One can feel its power and as it is famous for its events. Many ancient civilizations have taken place in this place and along the banks of the Periyar River. One can have magnificent view of the canal system which is about 1000 years old.
