Anand located in Anand district in Gujarat is famous as the Milk Capital of India. It has gained fame for the Amul Dairy. Ahmedabad and vadodara are the two major cities close to Anand.

Dakor
Dakor is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and it is near to cities like Vadodara and Ahmedabad also. The locals believe that the image of Lord Krishna was brought from Dwarka and is Installed here by a devotee.
Bharuch
Bharuch is an ancient town located at a distance of 70 km from Vadodara city. The temple of Bhrigu Rishi is located on the banks of the river Narmada. A fort on the hilltop overlooks the river and at the base of the hill top is the Jama masjid.
Dhumkal
There is a wild life sanctuary in Dhumkal, dedicated to Sloth Bears. This sanctuary also has leopards and a variety of tigers.
Udan Khatola
It is the rope-way connecting Machi village and the final climb. This place is in the Pavgadh Hill. The altitude is 700 meter.
There are regular buses from ahmedabad and vadodara to pavgadh. A tourist can also hire taxis from Vadodara and Ahmedabad to this place.
Champaner
Champaner is a very beautiful town and it consists of beautiful mosques spread over the whole town. There is also a Jama Masjid similar to Ahmedabad in Champaner. This place attracts a lot of visitors throughout the year. The Jama Masjid was built in 1513 and there is an imposing courtyard surrounded by Galleries.
Local Festivals in Anand
The festival of Navratri is celebrated throughout this place. This is the main festival here. This festival becomes more colourful and lively with local Garba, Dandia Raas. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is also celebrated with great grandeur by the maharashtrian population in this area.
