Athiyuthu is a village in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. It lies in the district of Ramanathapuram.

Here is a mosque named “ATHIYUTHU JAMIYA MASJID”, an Islamic pilgrimage centre named “PATTANI SHAHIB DURGHA” and a temple named “BAGAVATHY AMMAN TEMPLE”
In this village there is the Athiyuthu Jamiya Masjid and also an Islamic pilgrimage centre named “Pattani Shahib Durgha”. A temple by the name of Bagavathy Amman Temple is also there. This temple is considered very holy for the Hindus.

Shuhadaas and Waliyatullahs in Erwadi
Emperor Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed badusha along with the members of his clan are buried in this dargah. The sacred graves of other important Shuhadaas and in laws of Badusha Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed are found inside the premises.

The main shrine (dargah) in Erwadi is the holiest place for Muslims in Tamil Nadu because it is mixed with the soil of Madinah.
Kattupalli Shuhadaas
Kattupalli is one of the main places where the war between Pandyas and Arabs was held. It is also the graveyard of Arabs where the Dargahs of all important ministers of Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed badhusha Radiyallah tala anhu are found.

Tourists can stay in Erwadi and then travel to Athiyuthu. There are hotels which are either costly or low budget ones so travellers can choose from a wide range of it. Some of the famous ones include- Hotel Barakkath, Dargah western gate, Hotel Dasooqui (Earlier Khuthbiya), Ameer Aalim line, Chairman Line, Thangamma line, Gowthiya Raziya Line, Munsif Hussain Mumtaj Mahal, Fathima Gani Mahal, Rifaya Mahal, Misbah Line, Amjadha mahal, Arshadha Mahal, Darbar Guest House and Sulaiha Line.

Roads:
There are proper roads connecting Athiyuthu to all major places of south India. There are frequent buses during the day being operated by TNSTC from Ramanathapuram to Athiyuthu. Also TNSTC operates direct buses to Erwadi from various parts of Tamil Nadu like Madurai, Kumuli, Pattukottai, Thondi, Nagore and Chennai.
Railways:
Ramanathapuram railway station (Station code: RMD) is the nearest station to Athiyuthu and is well connected through road. There are trains running from this place to all the major places of India which includes the major metros.
Air:
The Tuticorin airport is the nearest airport to Athiyuthu.
