Aurangabad city is located in Maharashtra, India. This is a major tourist hub in India with a number of historical monuments built by the Mughal Empire. This place was named Aurangabad after the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The city is also fast developing with all modern infrastructures.
TOURIST PLACES:
Bibi Ka Maqbara: This is the burial place of Aurangzeb’s wife. Due to its similarity to the construction of Taj Mahal it is called the Mini Taj of the Deccan. It is situated very close to the city center, around 3 km from there.
Gates in Aurangabad: There are a number of gates surrounding Aurangabad. There are a total number of 52 gates surrounding it, each having a significance of its own.
Aurangabad Caves: The caves are the main tourist attraction in Aurangabad. There are a total number of 12 caves built around 3 A.D.
Quila-E-Ark: This was built by Aurangzeb in 1692.
Shahganj Masjid: This mosque is located in the busy market square of Aurangabad.
Chowk Masjid: This was built by the maternal uncle of Aurangzeb in 1655.
Salim Ali Lake & Bird Sanctuary: It is located very close to the city and towards the north of it.
