Cheruvathoor is a village in Nileshwar Taluk in Kasargod District in the state of Kerala. Cheruvathoor is located 38.9 km distance from its District Main City Kasargod and 458 km distance from its State Main City Thiruvananthapuram. This village is situated between Payyanur and Kanhangad on National Highway 17 (NH 17).
Places of tourist interest:
There are a few tourist places in the district of Kasargod. Adoor is famous for the ancient Siva temple which is believed to be built by Arjuna. The nearby forest is also isolated and is believed to be the abode of lord Siva. This is a holy place often visited by tourists and devotees all throughout the year.
There is also the famous Madiyan Kulom temple in the village of Ajanur. It is located 5 km from Kanhangad. The main deity of the temple is Bhadrakali; but there are also other deities like Kshetrapalan, Bhagavathi and Bhairavan. A striking feature of this temple is that a Brahmin priest performs pooja only in the noon, while the morning and evening poojas are performed by a sect called Maniyanis. Festivals are held in the month of May, June, December and January.
The two notable ashrams in Kanhangad are Anandashram and Nityanandasramam. Anandashramam, located at about five kms. east of the Kanhangad Railway Station, was founded in 1939 by Swami Ramadas, a great Vaishnava saint of modern times. The Nityanandasramam is situated on the hillock and it is about half a km. south of the Hosdurg taluk office. This ashram was founded by Swami Nityananda.

Cheruvathoor is located at a distance of 87.1 km from the Mangalore airport. One can hire a taxi or a cab to travel to the airport and also to travel from the airport to the town. The Calicut airport is located at a distance of 148.7 km from the village. There are flights connecting this part of the country to all the major cities and towns of India.

There are trains running to some of the places of south India from here.

It is well connected by roads to all the major places in South India. There is bus service also from this town to a number of important places.
