Dharmasthala is a small village located in the Dakshina Kannada district of the south Indian state of Karnataka. It lies on the banks of river Nethravathi and surrounded by the lush green forests. This tranquil village is nestled amongst the hills of Malnad. Dharmasthala is the abode of several temples. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity in most of these temples. Dharmasthala was initially referred to as Kuduma and is present about 75 kms from Mangalore.
TOURIST DESTINATION
Sri Manjunathaswamy Temple: This is the most famous temple in Dharmasthala and is visited by people from different places. Several ardent devotees flock to this temple to offer prayers to the gods and to get rid of their sins.
Manjusha Museum: This museum houses several rare collections of heritage objects including artifacts. One can also find beautiful sculptures, paintings, items of jewellery, objects of worship and utilitarian objects created by the craftsmen of the coastal area in this museum.
The Installation of Bahubali at Dharmasthala: The colossal statue of Lord Bahubali that was built by the renowned sculptor Shri Renjala Gopal Shenoy is believed to have taken three years for completion. Tourists flock in large numbers to view this magnificent statue.
Vintage car museum: This museum houses vintage cars. Hence travelers interested in viewing these ancient cars can visit this museum.
Maha Ganpathy Temple: This temple houses the shrine of Annappa Swamy and is the abode of Dharma Daivas. Hindu pilgrims visit this temple to offer prayers.

Being well-connected by roads and railway, Dharmasthala is convenient to reach. There are several state run government buses that one can board. One can also avail the Private cabs if one wishes for a more comfortable journey. These buses can be boarded from Mangalore or Bangalore. People can also go to some places near Dharmasthala on foot. Small alleys and streets are accessible on foot and adds to the pleasant experiences of the travelers.
