VATAKARA
Vatakara is a municipality town located in the Kozhikode district of the Indian state of Kerala. It was the capital of one of the tribal folks of the region namely the Kurumbranadu. This region covers a total of approximately 23km. it is located to the side of the Kottakkal puzha hence was earlier known as Vadakkekara due to its proximity to the place. Kalaripayyattu this is a form of martial arts that is popular in Kozhikode. This form of martial arts is unique because of the fact that weapons are used rather than the free hands and is closely related to Ayurveda.

PAZHASSIRAJAH MUSEUM
This museum managed by the State Archaeology Department houses antique coins, paintings, stones, bronzes amongst others. People can visit this place to witness the ancient forms of art that is famous even by the international standards. The art gallery is adorned by the paintings of Raja Ravi Verma.
DOLPHIN’S POINT
This place has been so named because of the fact that people visiting this place will be able to see numerous dolphins playing by the sea in dawn. This is a sight worth watching. The Lions Club Park and the Light house of the place should not be missed by people visiting Vatakara
MANANCHIRA
This place houses the Town Hall and the Public Library and is located at the centre of the city which makes it convenient for people to reach this place. The Commonwealth Trust Office which is one of the oldest buildings of the region is also located here. There is a large pond and park which can be visited by the people.
BEYPORE
This place is a popular Ship building centre and is located only 11km from Kozhikode. This place also known as Vaypura and Vadaparappanad is still used by the Arabs for buying of boats.
KOZHIKODE BEACH
This beach is often visited by locals and tourists alike to witness the beautiful sunset which can be enjoyed by the people sitting by beach. The scenic beauty of the beach with its two piers that stands since time immemorial only adds to the charm of the beach.
