Gadag is a town and a city municipal council in the state of Karnataka, India. The original city of Gadag and its sister city Betageri (or Betgeri) have a combined city administration. The Gadag style of Architecture marked by ornate pillars with intricate sculpture flourished in this town and is evident in all its ancient monuments.

Trikuteshwara temple is the most famous temple in Gadag. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, Brahma and Surya. The pillars and the walls constitute the typical Gadag style of architecture. The temple dedicated to Saraswati has the finest shining decorative pillars. This is an exquisite example of Chalukya Art. Chalukya art is also evident in the temples of Someshwara and Rameshwara. Veeranarayan temple is an ancient temple which dates back to the Chalukya era. This temple is also a must visit for the tourists as is has a long history associated with it.
A mosque dating back to Adil Shahi era is a place of pilgrimage for the Muslims. There is also a church dating to that era which is frequented by the visitors.

Gadag is a small junction station on Hubli-Hospet-Guntukal railway line. It connects to Hotgi junction on Pune-Solapur-Wadi railway line. Major tourist centres like Badami and Bijapur lie on the Gadag-Hotgi railway line. There is also connectivity between Gadag and other major places of south India. It is also connected to some major cities in India.

The airport is at a distance of 9 km from Gadag. There are flights to various important places of India running at regular intervals.
