Kalamassery is located in the Ernakulam district of Kerala and is a municipal town in the city of Kochi. It is a concentrated region of industrialization with several factories manufacturing chemicals and fertilizers, as well as IT companies. In the vicinity of Kalamassery are the Thrikkakara temple, the Cochin University of Science and Technology and the Eloor industrial township. The Periyar river flows through Kalamassery. Some of the major companies have their factories in Kalamassery, these are Fact, HMT, Apollo tyres, IRE, TCC, etc.
There are some religious places in Kalamassery. Some of them are:  St. Pious Church,  St.Joseph Church, St.Mary’s Church, Siva Temple, Ganeesh temple, and a number of Mosques.

The Cochin international airport which is near to Kalamassery has air connectivity to almost every place in India. It has international flights also to some major destinations and the airport is situated just 25 km from the city center.
Railways:
Cochin has two major railway stations – Ernakulam Junction and Ernakulam Town. These two stations have connectivity to almost every major place in India. Cochin is located very close to the town of Kalamassery.
Roads:
Kalamassery is well connected to all the major towns and cities in south India. There are bus services run by all major bus operators between Cochin and other major places. Several state highways connect Cochin to other places of South India.
