Online Bus Tickets Booking KanyakumariKanyakumari is a town in the Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Located at the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula, its former name was Cape Comorin.

Kanyakumari is surrounded by Majestic Hills and the Plains bordered by colorful sea shores, fringed with coconut trees and paddy fields, and here and there are few elevated patches of red cliffs with undulating valleys and plains between the mountainous terrain and the sea-coast, so closely interwoven with temples and churches.

The old areas of the town, where the natives live, are on the lower side. Many of the natives are into fishing activity and other maritime professions. Tourism is one of the main activities of the town, and many locals are employed in shell-craft and other tourism-related businesses.

The confluence of three oceans bodies- the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea- makes the sunrise and sunset even more special on full moon days. The nature of the sand in the beaches of Kanyakumari is unique as it is multicolored. Amidst the sea there are two rocks known as ‘twin rocks’ both contributing to the rich Indian heritage with the monuments of Swamy Vivekananda and Saint Thiruvalluvar.
